Apr 03, 2009 (newstodate): Ukraine's Lviv Airport is to seek foreign investors to secure its continued modernisation.
In 2008 the Ukrainean state granted USD 70 mio to the construction of a new runway and modernisation of the existing airport terminal.
To cope with expected increases in traffic and passenger volumes before 2012, the airport however needs a new passenger terminal with a capacity of handling 1,000 passengers per hour, and further investments are required also to develop the existing facilities.
The airport will thus need injection of some USD 90 mio that must be found outside state budgets.
