Apr 06, 2009 (newstodate): Ukraine's Lutsk Airport is actively seeking investors to secure its development before 2012.
In competion to another Ukrainean airport, Ivano-Frankivsk, the airport seeks a position as an alternate airport to Lviv, and this will require a major upgrade, budgetted around 60 mio euro.
Included in the development program is the construciton of a new passenger terminal and other infrastructure, as well a new cargo terminal, and plans are to start construction works in 2009, provided the financing has been secured.
The main existing asset of Lutsk Airport is the availability of a modern 1,660 m runway, sufficient for handling Airbus A320 and Boeing 737 aircraft.
