Among the new airlines expected to launch operations to Kiev, Ukraine, is Dubai's first low cost airline, flydubai, that will reportedly shortly receive the approval of flights plans between Dubai and Kiev from the Ukrainean authorities.
Also Air Berlin is reportedly studying the prospects of setting up a Ukrainean subsidiary to exploit the 16 weekly slots available for a Ukrainean carrier, to compete with Lufthansa's full exploitation of its 28 slots for flights between Ukraine and Germany.
Singapore Airlines is also said to be mulling plans for adding Kiev as a destination on one of its current European services, while Delta Air Airlines is seeking permissions for adding more flights into Kiev.
