Apr 21, 2009 (newstodate): Aeroflot has now officially been excluded from participating in the privatisation tender for Czech airline CSA.
The only bidders now shortlisted to proceed to the next stage in the tender process are KLM/Air France and the Czech investment fund Unimex that cooperates with Travel Service, the partly Icelandair Group-owned leisure travel carrier.
The final outcome of the tender will be published by September, 2009, when detailed negotiations over the eventual financial obligations have been completed.
The decision marks the third abortive attempt by Aeroflot to buy into European airlines, following the Alitalia and JAT tenders.
