Apt 24, 2009 (newstodate): The Russian carrier Rossiya has put its ninth Airbus A320 family aircraft in operation.
The aircraft is an A319, received on a financial leasing arrangement.
So far in 2009 Rossiya, with HQ at St Petersburg, has received three new Airbus A320 family aircraft, and plans are to operate 90 percent of all flights with modern Western-built aircraft before the end of this year.
Rossiya that merged with St Petersburg's Pulkovo Airlines in 2006 now operates a total of six Airbus A319 and three A320 aircraft, in addition to five Boeing 757-200, three Boeing 767-300 and 73 Soviet-built aircraft.
