Apr 07, 2009 (newstodate): Russia's Ministry of Transport has expanded the certification of three international airports to handle new aircraft types, opening prospects for increased passenger and cargo business.
St Petersburg's Pulkovo Airport has been certified to handle all types of MD-11 aircraft, including freighters, and Vladivostok International Airport has been certified to handle Bombardier's long range corporate and VIP aircraft Global Express, Airbus A300-600, and all versions of the Airbus A330, while Krasnodar International Airport has received certification to handle the Boeing 737-800.
With potentials for new business, the airport will also be in a better position to attract investments in new airport infrastructure.
