Apr 01, 2009 (newstodate): Effective from March 30, 2009, Russia's Krasnodar International Airport has been certified to handle Boeing 737-800 aircraft.
The certification will expectedly open up for new business opportunities and more traffic, and among airlines to be attracted by the airport's enhanced capability is S7 Sibir Airlines that has aired plans for a new route served with Boeing 737-800 aircraft beween Moscow and Krasnodar International Airport.
In 2008 the airport handled 1,609,000 passengers.
