Apr 01, 2009 (newstodate): Russia's ministry of transportation is considering various means of supporting the country's ailing aviation industry in times of economic distress.
As part of these considerations, the state may increase its compensation for leasing payments on Russian-built aircraft operated by Russian airlines to 75 percent, while the customs regulations for importing western-built aircraft may also be further relieved.
No final decision has yet been made, however.
