Apr 23, 2009 (newstodate): The Lithuanian Aviation Business Group Avia Solutions Group has announced its decision to move into the Estonian market.
The company will provide passenger and cargo flights from Estonia to various regions of Europe, Asia and Africa, using one Boeing 737-300 aircraft from the outset.
-Having a strong technical base in Lithuania, we decided to start the company expansion from the geographically closest region, says Linas Dovydenas, Avia Solutions Group Director General.
-For some time already flyLAL Charters has carried out charter flights from Estonia, and experience has shown that there is a considerable demand for charter flights in this country, leading us to establish a separate airline company here.
With 600 staff and based at Vilnius, Lithuania, the group already has representative offices in Russia and Ukraine and is now planning to establish one in Kazakhstan.
Behind the Lithuanian group are the owners of the defunct carrier flyLAL that went bankrupt on January 17, 2009.
