Apr 07, 2009 (newstodate): Iceland's Cargo Express is seeing great succes with its new Boeing 767F service launched on March 11, 2009, between New York and Liege via Keflavik, Iceland, in cooperation with ABX Air.
The response from exporters in the Icelandic market has been so strong that Cargo Express is already mulling plans for adding a third weekly frequency between Iceland and Liege.
-Exporters are very happy with this new service as it opens up new possibilies for them to sell their products. Until now their efforts have been hampered by a lack of air cargo logistics, says Robert Tomasson, Cargo Express managing director and one of the company's founders.
Icelandic exporters loaded no less than 40 tonnes of shipments, primarily fresh seafood, on the aircraft's latest flight from Keflavik to Liege on April 5, according to mr Tomasson.
