APR 29, 2009 (newstodate): EU is not too satisfied with the pace of progress in aviation talks with Ukraine.
-If Ukraine is serious in its wish to get closer to the EU, it needs to consider a solution to the signing of an aviation agreement, says Johannes Bauer, EU Directorate-General for Energy and Transportation.
-We understand that Ukraine also has a range of political and economical issues to consider during this period of crisis, but a solution to the aviation issue is crucial.
According to Mr Bauer, speaking at the airport conference in Riga, an agreement with Ukraine is still expected to be signed before the end of this year.
