Apr 01, 2009 (newstodate): Latvia's national carrier airBaltic is organising a conference in Riga on April 29 to present visions for Riga Airport as a future air traffic hub in northern Europe.
The aim of the conference is to give leaders of the aviation industry, as well as representatives from government and the EU, the opportunity to exchange views and experiences regarding the direction the industry is heading, emphasizing the future role played by competitive hubs, and discussing Riga Airport's strategy to become a hub for the north-eastern European region.
Among others, Lufthansa, Austrian Airlines and Aeroflot will present their views and experiences, and airBaltic's CEO will speak on the concept of North Hub Riga.
Also taking part are representatives from EU, Latvia's ministry of transportation, and TAV Airport Holding that recently won the tender for developing and managing Riga Airport.
