Apr 21, 2009 (newstodate): Lufthansa Technik Sofia has launched а second line for base maintenance services for Boеing and Airbus aircraft types with the arrival of an Airbus A320 of Ural Airlines.
Lufthansa Technik Sofia was opened in October 2008 and has already completed two IL2-checks on Lufthansa Airbus A321 aircraft, with a third to be completed in the coming days.
From July on Lufthansa Technik Sofia will include in its portfolio maintenance services for Boeing 737 Classic and Next Generation.
In the first five months of its operations, the MRO-company has also provided additional base maintenance and painting services for customers including Lufthansa CityLine, Bulgaria Air, Wizz Air, Sky Europe, Anadolu Jet, as well as for the lessor GECAS.
When the full capacity has been reached, the facility will have the capacity of performing heavy base maintenance checks on up to 24 short and medium range aircraft a year.
