Mar 11, 2009 (newstodate): The Ukrainean privately-owned airline Windrose Aviation is planning for more routes into Central Asia.
The carrier has already announced flights from Kiev, Ukraine, to Astana, Kazakhstan, from March 31, 2009, initially offering one weekly service, increasing to two weekly rotations from May 21, 2009.
Further news include the opening of a new route served with Boeing 737-800 from Kiev to Tashkent, Azerbaijan, from April 2, 2009, to be followed by the launch of another new route from Kiev to Ashgabad, Turkmenistan, from April 27, 2009, also servied with Boeing 737-800 aircraft.
The carrier has also announced high ambitions for 2009, with plans to five-double its passenger volumes on regular flights to 100,000 passengers.
Windrose Aviation currently operates two Boeing 737-800 aircraft leased from Czech company Travel Service, that is owned by the Icelandair Group, as well as two MD-82, two MD-83, and one An-24.
