Amr 06, 2009 (newstodate): Tatarstan is keen to develop its Kazan International Airport and the national airline, Tatarstan Airline.
The prime minister has held talks with a delegation from aviation expert companies including a Bulgarian consortium comprising several airline and airport companies, Fraport and a German design bureau as well as PricewaterhouseCoopers.
Topics discussed comprised plans for reconstruction of Kazan International Airport to modern standards, and continued modernisation of Tatarstan Airlines including acquisition of new Western-built aircraft.
In service with the carrier are now two Boeing 737 aircraft, one Boeing 727 and two CRJ900, while three more Boeing 737 will be delivered during 2009 alongside two additional CRJ900 aircraft.
