Mar 12, 2009 (newstodate): Cargo volumes are falling steeply in 2009 at Sweden's Stockholm Arlanda Airport.
According to LFV's statistics, the airport handled a total of 5,468 tonnes in January, the latest month reported so far.
In the same month in 2008 Stockholm Arlanda Airport handled 7,447 tonnes, indicating a decline by 26.5 percent, y-o-y, in volumes at Sweden's capital airport.
Cargo is generally down in the Swedish market, but the fall in Arlanda's volumes is also reflecting the pull-out from Stockholm of Jade Cargo's three weekly freighter flights, and the reduction in Cathay Pacific Cargo's program from two to only one weekly flight.
