MAR 20, 2009 (newstodate): From April 1, 2009, SAS Cargo plans to launch a new express product, EuropExpress, first to be implemented in the Scandinavian markets and latter to be rolled out on a European scale.
The new service builds on extensive utilisation of SAS' route network with more than 700 daily intra-Scandinavian flights, as well as streamlined procedures eliminating all, or at least most, bottle-necks in normal air cargo handling.
Each EuropExpress shipment must weight only up to 79 kilo to allow it go take the fast lane from acceptance to aircraft with no need for terminal handling, special equipment or document handling.
The new product, beating SAS Cargo's existing SAS Priority product on speed, will be kicked-off at a meeting on March 31,m 2009, with customers.
