Mar 10, 2009 (newstodate): The planned move of cargo handling from SAS Cargo's Terminal North to its eastern facility is slated to be completed by early June, 2009.
The terminals are operated by SAS Cargo's handling arm, Spirit Denmark, and the decision to close down cargo handling at the modern Terminal North was made to cut costs after the loss of several airline customers including Singapore Airlines Cargo from February 1, 2009.
Spirit Denmark has formed five project groups to plan and implement the move that also requires renovation and reconstruction works at the Terminal East before cargo handling equipment and infrastructure can be relocated.
The Terminal East was originally built by Novia and later acquired by Spirit.
