Mar 30, 2009 (newstodate): A subsidiary of Polish carrier LOT, Centralwings has reportedly folded its wings with immediate effect.
The LOT board has reportedly made the decision at a meeting on March 26, 2009, but no official announcement has yet been made.
The carrier, based at Warsaw Frederic Chopin Airport, was originally set up as a low-cost operator, but as times worsened in the aviation industry, LOT decided in October 2008 to cut all Centralwings' scheduled operations, leaving it to provide charter services only.
The carrier operated a fleet comprising 11 Boeing 737 aircraft.
