Ma 05, 2009 (newstodate): Plans for a new MRO centre at Lithuania' state-owned airport, Kaunas, have been put on hold.
After a tender in 2008, Lithuania's JSC Aurela Group, in cooperation with international partners, planned to set up a 9,000 sq meters hangar facility with capability of servicing aircraft with A, B, C, and even D-checks on Airbus and Boeing aircraft up to the size of Boeing 747.
But the current down-turn in world aviation has forced the parties to shelve the plans pending a recovery in the industry, according to Kaunas Airport.
