Mar 05, 2009 (newstodate): Scandinavia is to get new direct flight connections to Iraq.
Effective from March 4, 2009, the Swedish tour operator Aer Olympic has launched a weekly flight from Stockholm Arlanda to Erbil, Iraq, with the aircraft coming into Stockholm from London Gatwick Airport and returning along the same routing.
Starting on April 6, 2009, the same operator will also launch a weekly flight from London Gatwick via Denmark's Copenhagen Airport to Erbil, Iraq.
Flights are operated with Boeing 737-800 aircraft from Viking Airlines that earlier offered flights on the routes between Scandinavia and Iraq.
