Mar 09, 2009 (newstodate): Air Moldova has now taken delivery of its third Airbus A320 aircraft.
The carrier received its first A320 in 2003, with the second aircraft joining in 2007.
Air Moldova, based at Chinisau, early decided to phase out all Soviet-built aircraft and is building up instead a fleet of western-built aircraft, now comprising also one Embraer 200 aircraft.
In January 2008 Air Moldova further signed a contract with Embraer for delivery of one Embraer 190 that will be delivered in March, 2010.
The carrier currently serves a route network comprising flights from Chisinau to Frankfurt, Vienna, Bucharest, Istanbul, Lisbon, Madrid, London, Athens, Larnaka, Rome, Milan, Verona, Paris, Prague, Moscow, and St Petersburg.
