Mar 12, 2009 (newstodate): The Lithuanian aircraft leasing company Avia Asset Management, fully owned by flyLAL Group Services, has landed its first customer in Central Europe.
Avia Assett Management has signed a contract with Slovakia's LCC SkyEurope Airlines comprising lease of two Boeing 737-500 aircraft.
The two aircraft were formerly operated on a leasing contract by flyLAL Lithuanian Airlines but returned to their owner Avia Asset Management AB in mid-January 2009 when flyLAL went bankrupt on January 17.
Avia Asset Management currently leases two Boeing 737-300 and one Boeing 757-200 aircraft to the Lithuanian charter airline flyLAL Charters, two Boeing 737-500 to the Kazakh airline Scat Air Company, and one Boeing 737-300 to the Danish airline Jet Time.
Avia Asset Management AB was etablished in February, 2007, as the only company in the Baltic countries as well as in the Central and Eastern European region that specializes in long-term aircraft leasing services.
Avia Asset Management AB plans to expand its aircraft park now comprising eight purchased aircraft to twenty aircraft, and has already signed a contract for purchase of two ex-flyLAL Boeing 757-200 in 2009.
