Mar 09, 2009 (newstodate): Kazakhstan's Air Astana continued its aircraft fleet expansion program in 2008, counting 21 aircraft by year-end.
In 2008 the carrier took delivery of three additional Airbus A320 family aircraft, and confirmed orders for six more A320 family aircraft.
Air Astana now serving a route network including 25 domestic and 21 international destinations operated from its hubs in Almaty, Astana and Atyrau, now operates a fleet comprising two Boeing 767, four Boeing 757, two Airbus A321, seven A320, one A319 and five Fokker 50 aircraft.
Plans are to grow the fleet to 34 aircraft in 2014 and 63 by 2022.
