Mar 17, 2009 (newstodate): Korean Air Cargo's freighter operation at Swedish airport Luleaa Kallax Airport slated to be resumed from today, March 17, 2009, has been cancelled.
The service was launched in January, 2009, but was suspended already by mid-February due to low loads.
According to an airline executive, loads for today's re-launch flight were inadequate to warrant the reintroduction of the service.
It is not known if the carrier will make a fresh attempt next week.
The weekly, now suspended, Boeing 747-400F service by Korean Air Cargo is routed from Frankfurt via Luleaa to Incheon, Korea, driven primarily by exports to Asia of Norwegian fresh salmon, but is also to be supported by cargo shipments from the northern regions of Sweden, Norway and Finland.
