Mar 26, 2009 (newstodate): Icelandair is responding fast to SAS' pull-out from Seattle, USA, from October 2009 after more than 40 years of service.
Icelandair has announced its decision to launch services between its Reykjavik hub and Seattle from July 22, 2009, offering four weekly rotations with Boeing 757-200ER aircraft.
Through its efficient Icelandic hub the carrier will provide fast European including Nordic connections to and from Seattle that is little served with direct flights by European airlines.
The connection will especially be tuned to benefit travellers to and from points in Scandinavia including Copenhagen, Oslo, Stavanger, and Stockholm, as well Helsinki, Frankfurt, Amsterdam and Paris.
