Mar 24, 2009 (newstodate): Iceland's aircraft lease and ACMI provider Avion Aircraft Trading has still not found the future customers to operate its eight Airbus A330-200F aircraft ordered in May, 2007.
Deliveries of the first two aircraft are due to start from 2010, and the first four of these aircraft were originally to be operated by Icelandair Cargo that however cancelled its lease agreement with AAT in 2008.
-The first two Airbus A330-200F aircraft will be delivered in July and August, 2010, and these aircraft are still unplaced, says Hafthor Hafsteinsson, Avion Aircraft Trading chairman.
-It will be a struggle to place them but we are fairly confident we can do so in time.
- We are less worried about 2011/2012 positions as we expect the cargo market to be back on its feet by then, says Mr Hafsteinsson.
AAT has just delivered the second Boeing 747-400SF from conversion by IAL to Yangtze River Express in China, and a second aircraft will be delivered to Air Cargo Germany by late March, 2009.
