Mar 24, 2009 (newstodate): Lufthansa Technik Logistik GmbH has been selected to provide global logistics support to manage the Sukhoi Superjet 100 spares distribution centres worldwide.
The company has signed a contract to this effect with SuperJet International, the regional jet marketing, customization, and support company for the Sukhoi Superjet 100 regional aircraft.
SuperJet International is a JV between Alenia Aeronautica and Sukhoi Holding, responsible for marketing, sales, customization and delivery of the Sukhoi Superjet 100 regional jet in Europe, the Americas, Oceania, Africa and Japan, as well as of worldwide aftersales support.
SuperJet International is also responsible for the design and development of VIP and cargo variants.
The first SuperJet 100 was rolled out from the final assembly shop at Komsomolsk-on Amur on September 26, 2007, and the first flight was successfully, albeit belatedly, performed on May 19, 2008.
The first two aircraft are currently in test flight with a third aircraft scheduled to joint the flight test program in
spring 2009.
The certification plan calls for Russia civil certification by November 2009, followed by EASA certification in 2010 and FAA certification thereafter.
So far the aircraft has logged 122 firm orders and 67 options from nine customers.
The EIS was originally slated for late 2008, but program delays have pushed this back to Q4, 2009, as the latest target.
