MAr 24, 2009 (newstodate): The tender for privatisation of the Czech carrier CSA has attracted four confirmed bidders.
Bidders for 91.5 percent of the stake in CSA include Aeroflot that early aired its strong interest, as well as Air France/KLM, a Czech consortium including the partly Icelandic-owned Travel Services, and Odien AV III AS, a regional investment company.
The Czech government will announce a shortlist later in 2009, and the process is expected to be completed with the selection of the final winner by September, 2009.
Crucial to the EU identity of CSA is that majority ownership must rest with a company registered in the EU, which will require Aeroflot to team up with a partner resident in the EU.
