Mar 03, 2009 (newstodate): IATA's e-freight program is advancing fast, with 25 live airports, 66 live trade-lanes, and 52 live stakeholders including airlines and forwarders by the end of 2008.
By the end of 2008, 16,000 e-freight shipments had been processed, and the monthly e-freight volumes had grown to 3,200.
The process is mirrored in the Scandinavian markets as well, as shown in the information below, presenting a status as per March 1, 2009.
In Norway, seven locations, including Oslo Gardermoen, are open for e-freight including imports, exports, and transfer cargo shipments.
In Sweden, Stockholm Arlanda, Gothenburg Landvetter and Malmo Sturup are now open for import, export and transfer e-freight shipments.
And in Denmark, e-freight import and transfer shipments at Copenhagen and Billund are now live, while export e-freight shipments to Amsterdam, Frankfurt, Madrid, London Heathrow, Dubai and Hong Kong to come soon, pending final permits from the Danish Aviation Authority.
