Mar 31, 2009 (newstodate): e-freight is a prime driver behind SAS Cargo's new express cargo product, EuropExpress, to be launched on April 1, 2009.
All EuropeXpress shipments are forwarded as e-freight without physical paperwork, which can obstruct the transport flow and cause delays.
The product is further boosted through a more extensive utilisation of SAS' route network, which counts more than 700 daily flights, and through a simplification of all time consuming processes and procedures.
The product is available for shipments of up to 79 kilos with no special handling requirements in order to additionally speed up transfer in handling terminals, and use of dedicated flights for EuropeXpress will remove peak-hour bottlenecks.
First to be introduced in Scandinavia, EuropeXpress will later this year be rolled out to other e-freight destinations in Europe.
