Mar 26, 2009 (newstodate): The Czech cargo handling company Skyport has announced its move into the Slovak air cargo handling market.
Effective from March 25, 2009, Skyport has acquired the Slovak company Cargologic spol. s r.o. in Bratislava, merging the two companies that will now both operate under the Skyport name.
The takeover extends Skyport's cargo handling services to comprise Slovakia where a full range of cargo handling services together with road feeder services will be provided to airlines and the air cargo community.
-Our goal is to proivide the highest quality standards in cargo handling including ULD, RFS and x-raying services. In cooperation with Bratislava Airport we want to develop Bratislava to bocome an attractive and efficient air cargo gateway in Central and Eastern Europe, says Kamil slavik, Skyport chairman.
The Slovak company will remain under the management of Miriam Kanckova as managing director.
The main airlines handled by Skyport in Slovakia include Austrian Airlines, Lufthansa, Cargolux, Korean Airlines, British Airways, China Airlines, and Hainan Airlines.
