MArch 31, 2009 (newstodate): Part of Latvian carrier airBasltic's plans to increase its penetration of the under-served Lithuanian air transport market, the carrier is opening a new route between Riga, in Latvia, and Palanga, Lithuania.
First flight will be on April 1, 2009, and the route will be operated eight times per week with Fokker 50 aircraft.
At Riga Airport, the new route will connect with airBaltic's flights to 50 destinations in Western Europe, CIS countries, Scandinavia, and Mediterranean region.
