Feb 10, 2009 (newstodate): Russia's Volga-Dnepr Group reports a 25 percent y-o-y rise in cargo tonnage for 2008, to 267,000 tonnes of cargo.
According to these provisional results, the Group is now rated 12th in the global ranking of air cargo carriers, and is the largest Russian all-cargo airline group with Aeroflot Cargo taking the second place.
During 2008, the Group continued its aircraft fleet improvement program, taking delivery of two new B747-400ER freighters replacing older B747-200F aircraft, while operating two modernized IL-76TD-90VD freighters and providing funds for construction of another three similar units.
The Group also started talks with OAK for an order for new AN-124-100М-150 aircraft.
