Feb 3, 2009 (newstodate): For Russia's carrier Aeroflot, 2009 will be a year of aircraft fleet modernisation and expansion.
Through the year, Aeroflot will take possession of a total of 24 aircraft, including 18 A320 family aircraft and six A330 long-haul aircraft.
The carrier will finally phase out its remaining TU-154 aircraft, while the first SuperJet 100 regional aircraft will belatedly be delivered by the end of the year.
Aeroflot has placed firm orders for delivery of 30 SuperJets from 2009 to 2012, and holds options for a further 20 units.
