Feb 18, 2009 (newstodate): Serbia's JAT Airlines took its share of the general down-turn in the world's air cargo volumes in January, 2009.
The carrier handled a total of 192 tonnes of cargo and mail, including 142 tonnes of cargo and 50 tonnes of mail, which was a decline by 22 percent, y-o-y.
Apart from a softening market, the decrease also reflects JAT's cut-back in aircraft fleet and traffic as a means of reducing costs during a critical period.
