Feb 9, 2009 (newstodate): Effective from February 1, 2009, SAS Cargo has divested itself of its cargo GSA arm, Cubic Air Cargo.
New owner is the Stockholm-based company NordicGSA with subsidiaries in all four Nordic markets.
The sale is prompted by the new SAS Group strategy, Core SAS that will reduce Group staff and costs by divesting of all non-core businesses.
-Acting as a General Sales Agent for foreign airlines is not part of SAS Cargo Group's core business, and Cubic Air Cargo has consequently been sold to an industrial investor, the company states in a press release.
Cubic Air Cargo was part of the SAS Cargo Group since the acquisition of former Maersk Air Cargo in October 2005.
Further down the line will follow the sale of SAS Cargo's other businesses, the cargo handling and terminal operator Spirit and the freight forwarding unit, Trust.
SAS Cargo has earlier attempted to sell Spirit but decided to shelve the sales process before Christmas as no viable buyers were identified.
