Feb 13, 2009 (newstodate): The Russian carrier Ural Airlines plans to add a new flight from Russia to Tajikistan.
Effective from February 18, 2009, Ural Airlines will introduce a once-weekly flight on a new route from St Petersburg to Kulob, 200 km from the capital of Tajikistan.
Ural Airlines is based at Yekaterinburg but is increasingly opening new domestic and international routes from other Russian destinations to increase its penetration of the Russian market for air transportation.
The new strategy is based on the delivery and introduction of five new Airbus A320 aircraft from 2008.
Ural Airlines thus launched flight from Bratsk to Moscow flight in 2008, as well as between Novosibirsk and Samara and between Novosibirsk-and Krasnoyarsk in February, 2009.
Also now being prepared for launch is a new route between Novosibirsk and Moscow from March 1, 2009.
