Feb 26, 2009 (newstodate): Star Alliance-member United Airlines has now announced March 30, 2009, as the start-up date for its long-awaited new service to Russia.
Subject to regulatory approval, the carrier will introduce two weekly rotations between Washington Dulles Airport and Moscow Domodedovo Airport, using Boeing 767-300ER aircraft.
On May 7, 2008, United announced the new route to be inaugurated on October 26, 2008, but later, on July 4, 2008, postponed the launch due to the sky-rocketing fuel prices.
