Feb 10, 2009 (newstodate): The world economic stagnation and the depression in the airfreight business is now hitting at the much-heralded new Asian freighter service at Sweden's Luleaa Kallax Airport.
Korean Air Cargo has decided to suspend its weekly Boeing 747-400F service from Frankfurt via Luleaa to Korea from the end of next week.
The service was introduced by mid-January, 2009, driven by Norwegian exporters of fresh salmon to the Japanese and other Asian markets.
The suspension is planned till medio March, but the resumption of services will depend on positive results from the continuous study of market trends by Korean Air Cargo, a company official says.
