Feb 19, 2009 (newstodate): Plans are on the table for a consolidation of Belarusia's airline industry.
A master plan is currently under preparation, and it will soon be presented by a working group to the Belarus Ministry of Transportation.
The consolidation would merge Belavia, TransAVIAexport Airlines, and Gomelavia into one airline to provide passenger and cargo air transportation with improved profitability and a stronger capital basis.
Belavia and TransAVIAexport Airlines are both based at Minsk with a fleet of 13 passenger aircraft and eight IL-76 freighter aircraft, respectively, and Gomelavia, based at Gomel, operates three AN-24 and one IL-76 aircraft.
