Feb 2, 2009 (newstodate): After serious disruptions caused by the recent labour unrest, Boeing now claims to be back to a steady production rhythm for its Drealiner program.
The join of the fifth Boeing 787 aircraft designated for flight test is now being undertaken, and five of the six aircraft designated for flight test are thus now in varying stages of production.
Assemblies for the final flight-test aircraft are in production at partner sites worldwide, and in all, assemblies for 30 Dreamliners are in production at this time.
After several revisions to the original program, the Dreamliner is now expected to perform its first flight by late Q2, 2009, followed by the first delivery in 2010.
