Feb 2, 2009 (newstodate): The global ecomic recession took a heavy toll on cargo volumes at Denmark's Billund Airport in January, 2009.
Volumes were down no less than 25.3 percent, y-o-y, to 3,360 tonnes including 1,620 tonnes of imports, down 21.7 percent, and 1,740 tonnes of exports, down 28.4 percent.
This was the first time since 2005 that volumes in January dipped below the 4,000 tonnes-mark, to 3,424 tonnes.
