Feb 25, 2009 (newstodate): Following on Singapore Airlines and Emirates as the world's third Airbus A380 operator, Qantas is now readying for delivery of its fourth Airbus A380 aircraft.
The Australian carrier received its first A380 on September 19, 2008, and the fourth aircraft is due for delivery in May, 2009.
With the growing fleet of A380, Qantas will again increase its frequency to London via Singapore from three to five weekly operations and add a sixth weekly flight to Los Angeles.
Qantas has ordered a total of 20 Airbus A380 aircraft and will take delivery of a total of four aircraft in 2009, bringing the A380 fleet to a total of nine units by the end of the year.
