Dec 04, 2009 (newstodate): Ukraine's Lviv International Airport has now secured state financing of its runway extension project.
The airport currently operates a 2,510m runway, but plans are to expand by 700m to allow for operations by large aircraft.
Also in the plans for the airport is the construction of a new airport terminal capable of handling up to 1,220 passengers per hour, compared to the current capacity at 240 passengers per hour.
The projects are driven by the requirements on Ukraine by Euro 2012.
