Dec 08, 2009 (newstodate): Moscow Vnukovo Airport's new cargo complex has now been fully certified to operate cargo handling and storing services.
The cargo complex was commissioned in September, 2009, and first customers have been Russian carrier Yakutia and Kavminvodyavia for which a total of 2,000 tonnes of cargo has already been processed.
When fully developed, the 57,000 sq m facility will be able to process 450 tonnes of cargo per day, or 150,000 tonnes of cargo per year.
The cargo complex will be able to handle both flown and trucked cargo as well as cargo by rail, and facilities are installed to provide for any type of cargo including cooling, freezing, livestock handling and VALS.
