Dec 01, 2009 (newstodate): The Romanian carrier Carpatair is taking in new aircraft in accordance with its medium-term strategy, which targets fleet modernization and facilitates access to new routes and markets.
The carrier has acquired three Fokker 70 aircraft to be operated on both domestic and international destinations from Carpatair's hub in Timisoara and on direct flights from Bucharest and other airports in Romania.
The first airplane will join Carpatair fleet in December 2009, the other two being scheduled for February and March 2010.
During the 2009 Winter schedule the aircraft will operate on the existing routes network, but starting from March-April 2010, new services will be launched which will be served exclusively by the Fokker 70 aircraft.
The carrier already operates a fleet comprising one Fokker 70, three Fokker 100, and 14 SAAB 200 aircraft.
