Dec 10, 2009 (newstodate): November 2009 was another month of negative growth in cargo volumes at Norway's Oslo Gardermoen Airport.
The airport handled a total of 5,907 tonnes of cargo and mail, a decrease by 21.3 percent, y-o-y.
International cargo was down 19.2 percent, to 3,356 tonnes, while domestic cargo dropped 23.8 percent, to 2,551 tonnes.
For the first 11 months, the airport thus recorded a drop by 16.6 percent in total cargo and mail volumes, to 70.942 tonnes.
Most hit was international cargo that dropped 21.2 percent, y-o-y, to 42,029 tonnes.
The situation may bring some relief to statistics from December, however, as the new Norwegian trans-Atlantic freighter service, Sundt Atlanta Skybridge, lifted off on its first flight on December 5, 2009, and will perform two weekly rotations at the airport.
