Dec 18, 2009 (newstodate): Moscow Domodedovo Airport has taken the lead in Russian by becoming the first airport to implement simultaneous parallel take-offs.
Starting from December 17, 2009, the airport operates simultaneous parallel departures from two independent runways in accordance with ICAO Standards and Recommended Practices.
The parall take-off procedures are facilitated by the newly reconstructed Runway 1 and the high-technology infrastructure of Domodedovo Airport.
The simultaneous parallel operations at two runways will increase the future capacity of the airport to 90 movements per hour and enhance the punctuality of flights as well
