Dec 08, 2009 (newstodate): Iceland's Keflavik Airport is winning growth thanks to the volumes of transfer passengers.
The airport generated 95,000 passengers in November 2009, which was an increase by four percent, y-o-y.
But while passenger volumes to and from Iceland dropped by 0.1 percent, passengers between Europe and USA via Keflavik on Icelandair flights increased by no less than 30 percent during the month.
Behind the growth in trans-Atlantic volumes is the low dollar that attracts booming numbers of European shoppers.
